Subject: Limit sensors for Kanalog
Hi all!

I'm using inductive Omron sensors for limit on my mill w/ mach3&pport. While I'm about to get some more and move over to kflop/kanalog I
thought to ask if there is any difference whether the sensors are NPN of PNP?

Rgds,
Tapio

Hi Tapio,

The Kanalog Opto inputs have isolated + and - inputs.  So they can be driven by sinking the - input (NPN), or sourcing to the + input (PNP).

The 16 Opto Inputs on KSTEP have common anodes all tied to the + supply, so sinking drivers (NPN) must be used.
